Position: Sportbook Business & Risk Analyst / Statistician
About us: Moja is one of the leading Sports betting, Lottery and Gaming groups in Africa.
We are looking to strengthen our Sportsbook team, by adding a Sportbook Business & Risk Analyst / Statistician.
Job Scope: The role reports to the Head of Sportsbook.
You will be a Sportbook Business & Risk Analyst enthusiast who is eager to take part in analyzing sports betting data, identifying areas of concern or abuse by players and working with the Head of Sportsbook to adjust our trading set up or player limit settings to minimize any exposure.
You and the rest of the team will also provide 2nd line sportsbook support answering more specialized sportsbook related questions and bet settlement issues and will assist in the set-up and settlement of games such as the Jackpot and other sports games that will be in place in 2023.
Background & Qualifications Mathematics or Statistics graduate, with an understanding of probability theory, expected returns and statistical significance.
English is a must.
Analytical or Statistical experience: You will likely be a recent Maths graduate at the top end of your class, but any project or previous work experience in the field is acceptable.
Strong betting knowledge: We are driven by the excitement of sports events and want to reduce the risks that come with them. You need to have a good understanding of (sports) betting
Required Technology and Software Excellent excel spreadsheet user, comfortable with analysing and intepreting large volumes of data. Able to confidently use Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, multiple sorting of data, among other techniques.
Location Athens or Cape Town
