The call for submissions for the RSS 2010 international conference which is being held in Brighton this September is now available to download.
The conference aims to build on the success of RSS 2009 in Edinburgh and will provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of both methodological developments and areas of application of interest to statisticians and users of statistics alike.
It offers an opportunity for statisticians, analysts, researchers and other users of statistics from numerous sectors across the UK and around the world to meet under one roof and share their current research and insights.
Leading international speakers from a broad range of sectors will be featured. Confirmed speakers so far include Tim Davis, Peter Donnelly and Nancy Reid (University of Toronto).
A wide range of invited sessions is planned by both the conference committee and sections and groups from across the full spectrum of the Society’s interests. Topics will include:
* climate change modelling
* building trust in official statistics
* the 2011 census
* measuring progress
* adaptive clinical trials
* performance indicators
* composite likelihood
* recent advances in MCMC
* data capture
* risk
* statistical literacy and new computing technology for statistics.
Submissions are now invited for contributed sessions, contributed talks and poster presentations. These must be received by 31 March.
The conference website is now live and will be regularly updated with information as it becomes available.
