Υπάρχουν πάνω από 300 journals, πολλά εκ των οποιών παιδικού επιπέδου δυστυχώς.
Γιατί;

Μια απάντηση ειναι ότι πολλές χώρες αξιολογούν τους καθηγητές με αριθμό δημοσιεύσεων και αδιαφορούν για την ποιότητα, οπότε εχει ανέβει η ζήτηση: πρέπει να δημοσιεύουν ότι νάναι για να μείνουν μεσα στο σύστημα...
Επίσης υπάρχουν αρκετα πια περιοδικά που πληρώνεις και δημοσιεύεις ότι θέλεις...

Σχετικά με τους δείκτες να πω τα εξής

1. θεωρώ σημαντικό ότι γενικά υπάρχουν δείκτες που μπορούν να αναδείξουν τελικά ποιές εργασίες είναι "σημαντικές" αν και αυτό ειναι πολύ δύσκολο και υποκειμενικό...

2. για κάθε δείκτη υπάρχει τρόπος να τον "ξεπεράσεις". Περιοδικά σου ζητάνε να βάλεις 2 αναφορές δικές τους ωστε να ανεβάσουν τον IF.

3. Ενα ενδιαφέρον θέματάκι θα ηταν ένας φοιτητής να μετρήσει τους δείκτες για τα μέλη ΔΕΠ των ελληνικών στατιστικών τμημάτων. Να μια ωραία εργασία να δοθεί στους φοιτητές. (ή μήπως όχι γιατί κάποιοι θα ξεγυμνωθούν);

Εδώ ο νόμος υποχρεώνει τα μέλη ΔΕΠ να εχουν αναρτημένα βιογραφικά στο ιντερνετ. Πόσοι έχουν ανεβάσει; Πόσοι δεν τολμούν να ανεβάσουν... οκ ξεφυγα...
