Post-Doctoral Fellow in Biostatistics
The Biostatistics department jointly with the INSERM U900 research unit at the Curie Institute, in Paris, France invites applications for a post-doctoral fellowship position in biostatistics applied to cancer. This is a 2-or 3-year academic and research assignment, within the framework of the label of site de recherche intégrée sur le cancer (SIRIC or comprehensive cancer center).
The successful candidate will assist the Department’s research program on statistical methods and designs for clinical trials integrating biomarkers and surrogate endpoints, in collaboration with both physicians and biologists. The duties include (i) managing research projects, (ii) proposing advanced statistical design and analyses of data for early phase clinical trials and randomized controlled trials, (iii) writing manuscripts for publication, and (iv) assisting with the mentoring of graduate students and other trainees.
Candidates should have a doctoral degree in biostatistics with some experience in cancer research, or alternatively, an MD degree with appropriate training in oncology and a Master’s degree in biostatistics. Proficiency with advanced methods of statistical analysis of clinical and biological data using R and/or SAS is a required skill.
Located in the middle of Paris, in the quartier latin, Curie institute is a comprehensive cancer center (CCC) that associates the more reknown research center in cancer in France with two top-level cancer hospitals. Pioneer in numerous treatments, this CCC is a reference for Breast cancer, for paediatric cancers and ocular cancers. Curie was one of the two French centers to be labelled SIRIC by the French NCI.
Salary will be according to the prevailing norms at the Curie institute and its affiliated hospitals.
