We welcome new Biometric Bulletin Editor, Dimitris Karlis, who will officially begin his three-year term on 1 January 2013.
Dimitris Karlis is an Associate Professor of Statistic at the Department of Statistics, Athens University of Economics, Greece. He has been a member of the IBS since 2001 (EMR), and served as publicity officer for EMR since 2006 and as EMR Correspondent to the Biometric Bulletin since then. He holds a PhD in Statistics (Athens University of Economics, 1998). His research interests refer to mixture modeling, multivariate count data modeling, time series for discrete valued data and clinical trials among others. He has authored/co-authored 65 papers in peer-reviewed statistical journals, including Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series A, Statistics and Computing, Statistics in Medicine and several others. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise and we look forward to his contributions to the Biometric Bulletin. Congratulations on your new appointment!
His predecessor, Roslyn Stone, will continue to serve as Editor through the end of the year, guiding and teaching Dimitris. We express our sincerest gratitude to Roslyn Stone for her outstanding work and service to the Biometric Bulletin. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
