PhD position "Stochastic analysis of road traffic"
Fri 13 Apr 2012 - 14:29
Please find below a short text for an opening on "Stochastic analysis of road traffic" that we have at the Korteweg-de Vries Institute for Mathematics at the University of Amsterdam.
PhD position "Stochastic analysis of road traffic"
Korteweg-de Vries Institute for Mathematics at the University of Amsterdam is searching for an excellent PhD student for a project titled “Stochastic analysis of road traffic”.
The PhD student will carry out her/his research jointly at the group Korteweg-de Vries Institute for Mathematics, and at Eurandom, Eindehoven. The PhD project concerns the modelling, prediction and control of road traffic. The student should have a strong background in probability and applied probability. A background in statistics, optimization, operational research and algorithms is also preferable. In addition, the student should wish to work in collaboration with industrial partners.
Applications should be send before May 7th 2012. Applications should include a curriculum vitae, a list of courses including grades, and contact details for two reference letters. Applications should be sent to Neil Walton (n.s.walton@uva.nl) and Sindo Nunez-Queija (nunezqueija@uva.nl).
