Three scientific assistants at Technische Universität Dortmund

The Department of Mathematics at the Technische Universität Dortmund offers three positions as scientific assistants limited to three years or two years respectively, starting in October 2015 in the Research Training Group (Graduiertenkolleg, GRK2131 "High-dimensional Phenomena in Probability - Fluctuations and Discontinuity". The salary corresponds to the regulations of the collective labour law of the public sector in group 13 TV-L or, if applicable, by transitional law (TVÜ-L). The successful candidate may either be a doctoral student (75%, 3 years) or a postdoc fellow (100 %, 2 years). The position is also available on a part-time basis.

Requirement profile:
We are looking for talented, motivated individuals with a strong background and interest in some of the topics stochastic processes, stochastic analysis, limit theorems, mathematical physics, random matrix theory, harmonic analysis and/or special functions. For the postdoc position an excellent PhD in stochastics or related fields is needed as well as the willingness to contribute in the Research Training Group.

Area of responsibility:
The positions are located in stochastics in the Reserach Training Group 2131 on "High-dimensional Phenomena in Probability - Fluctuations and
Discontinuity "(http://www.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/ffm/graduiertenkolleg/GRKmain.html.en) starting on October 1, 2015. The Research training school is organized
together with colleagues from the University of Bochum and Duisburg-Essen. The positions are located in Dortmund and should be connected with the projects "Limit theorems for fractional processes via Malliavin calculus" and "Stochastic processes on high dimensional Grassmannians and integrable particle models"
