QUANTITATIVE ANALYST

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Senior Quantitative Analyst, the Quantitative Analyst will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of statistical analysis projects, including exploratory data analysis, modelling, predictive analysis and data visualisation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create predictive models for various pre-match and in-game betting markets using mathematical/statistical analysis
Implement models in object-oriented programming language
Data manipulation to clean data
Analyse/evaluate/optimise existing models
Document the statistical process followed
Report to the quantitative team on work-flow
Research new statistical methods for future applications
Collaborate closely with product developers/managers to move projects from idea to implementation
Communicate with clients the key elements that govern the model
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A postgraduate qualification in mathematics, statistics or a closely related field with a strong quantitative component
Experience in developing mathematical models
Advanced programming skills in either R, Matlab/Octave etc.
Advanced Excel skills
Good understanding of the betting industry
Desirable:
A good understanding of modelling techniques such as GLMs, Bayesian Statistics, MCMC etc.
Experience in developing mathematical models for sports
Experience in object-oriented programming in Java, C++ or Python etc.
Experience in Database Management Systems
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Fluent in English (written and spoken), another European languages will be considered as a plus
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
General technical understanding and high interest in technical solutions
Creative thinking, keen to further refine systems and processes
Highly self-motivated, leading by example and enthusiasm
Being a team player, with the ability to work with new teams immediately
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities as well as product environments and able to work to tight deadlines
Patience, tactfulness, diplomacy and approachability
Commitment to upholding the highest professional work standards and ethics
